I am not an expert at atkins , just starting induction myself, but i have been researching and reading alot about it .... i glanced at your food calendar and you have some days that the calories are only like 700 , is that really all you ate because from what I understand on atkins you need to eat more to lose more. You need your net carbs to be 20 , with 15 coming from vegetables. Also , what are you drinking ??? Because I read that each packet of splenda or sweetener you use is considered one net carb. I have been drinking mass amounts of water. And only allow myself one coffee per day , with cream and one splenda in it.

Most of what you had yesterday looks good. Except that tartar sauce has a lot of sugar in it (you'll want to skip any condiments like tartar sauce, ketchup, bbq sauce - they have too much sugar). Instead of buying tartar sauce, I usually mix mayo with minced dill pickle and a little lemon juice. Much the same, just no sugar. You need to up the fiber, more veggies, some flax (check out the MIM's) or psyllium. Also, watch the package foods (even "Atkins" foods aren't really a great choice). You usually get better foods making your own than frozen or packaged. But, of course, it's better than junk if you are in a hurry or don't feel like cooking. Of course, your mileage may vary. Hope that helps some.

You haven't lost any weight at all since beginning induction? That doesn't seem right. Have you noticed your clothes being more loose? You should be seeing fat loss somewhere. Your calories are low. So you should be losing weight. Are you drinking water? Are you taking in too much sodium? Maybe something is masking your loss by adding bloat. If your clothes are more loose, then it's working, the scale just hasn't caught up yet. Maybe make sure your food is proper for induction. Make sure your getting enough veggies.

Your food looks right though most days you appear slightly over 20g net carbs. Some people need to really stay at 19-20. Watch the beverages and condiments that aren't listed, drink your water to flush the fat from your kidneys. Try upping your fats for a while to force your body into ketosis. Add fats like coconut oil (tasteless) to your coffee and fried eggs. Give it more time. Stay on induction until your sure you are fully into ketosis. Your body is just being stubborn.

Thank you everyone. I found that I was eating hidden sugars. I only had the Atkins meals because I was experimenting with different foods and I ruined dinner. Yuck. I also thought I was supposed to be eating 25 Net carbs so I was way over eating them. I am kicking out the Tartar and the Creamer with sugar. Thank you everyone for helping me out and giving me advice. I'm going to revamp what I'm eating.

You have to be honest with the counting, as painful as that might be.

I usually didn't lose on induction. I had to go to the fat fast to lose anything. That started everything rolling. After that I could lose on induction.

Are you logging everything you're eating? If so, you're not eating enough many days or eating enough veggies. In Induction, you should be getting roughly 1500-1800 calories per day (this varies by person) and 20 net carbs. Of those 20 net carbs, 12-15 should be from veggies with the rest from cream, cheeses. This is really important! Also, be sure to drink lots and lots of water. I don't eat them, but I've heard some people say that the Atkins foods stall them. Maybe try avoiding those and eating "real" food and see if that makes a difference. Foods that are "sugar free" usually have sugar alcohols in them that are not technically carbs, but some people process them like carbs. So if you're eating those, maybe see if skipping those makes a difference for you. It can be hard to get dialed in on your food, but once you get it, this WOE really does work so hang in there! Good Luck!

I agree with all the people above. Look I have been on Atkins for 8 months, it works really great! you just have to be patient. I have dropped 77 pounds so far and still have a ways to go, but it is about following the plan. Get on the atkins website and read "learn Atkins" on the main page, then see if you are doing what it says, you can also dump the miracle whip, it has sugars as well, get with real mayo and get rid of "light" sour cream, get the real deal, when you see "light" or "sugar free" they usually put something in there that will stall us out. Look for me on Atkins on Sister Crystal....I will help you in this journal..DON"T give up!!!

I can only speak from personal experience, but I've found the scientific method of losing weigh seems to work the best: lower your calorie intake plus add in exercise. I use a food scale to measure ounces, and various measurement spoons and cups...I look up the various calorie counts of foods I cook at home. I also don't starve myself, since that'd only encourage binge eating and falling off my diet 'wagon.' Slow and steady...and it's working. :)

I would agree with everyone here ...you definitely have to eat or your body will feel likes its in starvation mode ad will hold onto the fat =) Trial and error the first few weeks !! but keep at it and definitely visit the atkins site ! Good Luck ! Im loving the atkins program

Just a note, starvation mode is a myth: http://examine.com/faq/how-do-i-stay-out-of-starvation-mode.html

I totally agree that starvation mode is a myth!!!!

opinion statement: depends on your definition of 'starvation mode' if youre talking about a reduction in Basal metabolic rate due to a sedentary lifestyle combined with lack of caloric intake, then there is no myth. If you are starving your body will use the minimum amount of calories possible to survive. This means decreased heart rate, core body temperature, and Central nervous system function. when you do eat your body continues to use the minumum calories possible and stores the excess. No scientific evidence 100% proves either yay or nay.
