I went to my first zumba class last night and had a wonderful time! I will say it kicked my butt, though. I tried doing a zumba youtube video once and by the second song I said "Aw, forget it. You guys go ahead." to the people on the screen. When you're in a zumba class with people all around, you kinda can't do that. Of course, I couldn't fully *bounce* the whole time, but I kept moving just the same. Afterward, it felt like I had run 10 miles, the way my chest was burning. Had to go home, take some Goody's powder, and pass out... um, yes... I'm that out of shape.
On the FS exercise page, it states that an hour of fast dance is about 800 calories. Surely I can say that I did more than that since I'm the weight of 2 people? ;) jk.
