I experimented with eating just a "little" bread and sweets. Well, I ended back in a feeding frenzy and ate everything in my path. I am up 13 lbs, weepy and can't breathe very well. I feel horrible physically and emotionally. The rest of the holiday rolls are going out to the hens this morning and I am getting back to my grain/suger free, low carb diet. I am not defeated, I will just consider this "bump in the road" , research. More proof that this way of eating is how I must eat for the rest of my life for me.

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight gain. When we eat mostly low carb and then have a carby indulgence, the weight gain is mostly water or "inflammmation"...i.e. its NOT true weigh gain. Drink lots of water, eat low carb and a couple of lowish calorie days and you will be back to where you were before. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I have been doing all you suugested and am already beginning to feel a little better. I am less puffy and not so weepy. My eyesight is still blurred and my head is killing me but I know it'll be better tomorrow. Thanks again!

Carbs do require your body to retain more water but excess carbs can easily get stored as fat too if you consume more than your body needs. Your body will first use them for instant energy, then any left over is converted to glucose and stored in the liver for use later. Once glucose levels are full any excess is stored as fat. Lower calorie days will help. If you deplete glucose stored in the liver, then the body will breakdown stored fat and convert that to glucose for energy.
