Br_E_Co - I think a lot of it has to do with how it's prepared. I grew up with it so I'm okay with the texture as is if it's an Asian dish. If it's anything else, I get pretty salty about the lack of respect and knowledge when it comes to prepping tofu. Even a lot of vegan and vegetarian places get it wrong.
