Walked 3.1 miles this morning; Lab going 1.3 miles, Collie going the full route. UGH Index an 8. Also had a nice chat with a neighbor down the way who's getting a new roof put on.

The bad news is that he was talking about age, mentioning that he was 81 and then said I must be, what...in my 60's??? AAARRRGGGHHH!!! I KNOW I don't look like I'm in my 30's, but 60's???? Really???? As nicely as I could, I said I was pushing that, but was in my late 50's. Knife in my heart. Oh well...I never look all that wonderful while out walking and perhaps his vision is a bit age-affected - LOL!

Yesterday's Hunger Monster just would NOT go away, no matter how I tried to push him out the door. I actually began to feel nervous, almost panicky after I ate dinner and still very hungry. So, I'll give you 3 guesses what I ate....and the first 2 guesses don't count. So be it. It took care of the hunger and I'm feeling so much better today. Not "better" with respect to my weight, but better physically.

Yesterday, I spent some time on askthecarbexpert.com and listened to a 2012 interview with Dr. Phinney, (co-author of books including, "A New Atkins for a New You," "The Art & Science of Low Carbohydrate Living," and "The Art & Science of Low Carbohydrate Performance," among others). He really got me thinking about the restriction that's happening on my Labor Day Blitz. Even with additional fat, I may be unintentionally pushing my total calories too low, even for a short-term period like my Blitz. In fact, what happened last night may have been simply my body's way of hitting me over the head to say "I'm HUNGRY....FEED me!"

Lots and lots to think about, that's for sure. I wish so much that I lived near Raleigh, NC or somewhere else near where these guys/gals who are at the forefront of the low-carb research live. I'd so much like to be under the care of a doctor who really knows how low-carb works, including all the nuances. But that's just not going to happen, so I've got to become my own advocate for low-carb and find and study QUALIFIED information wherever I can.

So...is That where the munch monster came from last night? YOU? Welll...I caved in too...I kept telling myself how many calories/carbs I was eating...but I guess it didn't matter then...does now! I guess we will have to ge our own guinea pigs for this low-car-life-style. It is working better than anything else I have ever tried. Hang in there...it does work, it is working & it will work tomorrow too!

GG???? OMG....is that YOU???? LOL!!! Just glad to see you....must mean you've been able to catch your breath this week. I agree....sometimes I'm feeling like my own science experiment here, but it DOES work and I'm absolutely convinced of its appropriateness for the long-term. It's worked for both of us (among others), just got to keep on truckin'. :)
