When I started at the gym in 2014 I was 37 years old and 280 pounds. In 14 months lots of hard work and determination got me to 142 pounds. BUT...sliding back into unhealthy eating habits I found myself back up to 204.4 pounds in September of 2018. I learned a valuable lesson. You can't workout out bad eating habits. I cleaned them up, and now I'm 135 pounds. And by incorporating more weight training this time around I'm actually stronger and healthier now than I was when I was 142. I count calories, so CICO for me. I use MyFitnessPal because it's easier to enter in my recipes there. Another question I get asked is if I had weight loss surgery, I did not. And I don't have any against weight loss surgery, I just didn't get it done. I didn't use pills or shakes or anything like that. I also get asked if I got a tummy tuck, I have not

My doctor did tell me that as I got older it would be harder to get healthy especially when I passed 40. So it was a good thing I decided to do this in my 30s. I didn't have any kind of medical conditions before, my blood pressure was a little high but I wasn't on any meds. But surely I would probably be diabetic with high cholesterol and high blood pressure had I not changed my lifestyle.

Letty, ur so INCREDIBLE - in and out - u inspire me! I rmbr asking u abt loose skin n what to do abt it, but my goodness - THERE IS NO LOOSE SKIN ON YOU! PLEASE share ur secrets with the rest of us hopefuls.

I really do have loose skin, on my arms, on my lower abdomen, my butt, my thighs, and calves. I just wear my gym clothes tight and compressed. I'm an open book, I have no secrets about my weight loss journey because I want us all to succeed.

I see it right away. But I think we have a tendency to see our flaws first before anything else. I've talked to my daughter about my loose skin and the ladies at the gym too. They don't even notice it, they see my muscles first. Like I said though, I think it's just human nature to see what we don't like about ourselves and focus on it. Having such a wonderful support system helps me see how far I've come, whether it's my family, my gym family or social media families like this one.

Trust me, anyone would be able to see mine should I allow them - and I won't, lol. If I could see your progress in me by the end of next year, then you could just kill me now with a fly swatter! Mahalo for being living proof of what is in the realm of the possible 😘

As for the hair, gorgeous! I have salt n pepper, thanks to my mom. My hairdresser asked me abt color for years n I kept saying no, I'm happy with God's highlights. One day he showed me a swatch of varying shades of gray n said that this is what young girls r asking for! Unbelievable, right?!

When people ask me if I dye it grey and I tell them no, they say "that's too bad I was going to ask you who your hairdresser is". 😂😂😂 I know girls who dye it, it's sooo expensive! It's crazy they would pay that much for what they'll have for free later on.
