Hi everyone! Thank you for your kind words of support on Saturday. It really helped! I was able to go to the wedding reception and I had a great time. I talked to people I hadn't seen for a long time and I got to see all of my daughter's friends that grew up into beautiful young ladies. It's so surreal seeing them get married and have babies.
It reminds me again that this weight loss is for me and not for anyone else. I am doing it so that I can move better, live longer, do more things.
I am still recovering from getting hit by a car last year. I have a lot of trouble with my legs and walking so the fact that I was able to stand on the dance floor a little bit was great. And I took a walk yesterday in the great weather.
I decided to get out my journal and really start working towards walking. I literally can only stand 5 - 7 minutes and walk for about 10. My leg and back muscles cramp up severely and I need to sit or rest. It's very frustrating b/c my cardiovascular fitness is better than that and I want to do it but legs aren't quite ready. Amazing what sitting in a wheelchair for 5 months can do to atrophy your muscles!
I think I will take more frequent breaks at work and go out and walk down the sidewalk. I count sidewalk squares or make little goals like "get to that sign". I haven't tried for awhile so we'll see how far I can get!
I hope all of you are working hard to make your goals come true. Never give up!
