I have a doctor appointment early tomorrow to discuss the pain in my back. Thinking kidney stone. My boss is having lunch with a secretary who may want my job (I am retiring.). I hope to work until October 31.

oh ouch. I hope it is easy to fix! if you ARE a stonemaker and pass a stone... yay... KEEP IT and request your doctor to get it analyzed what type. Uric acid or calcium. Don't take no for an answer because there are preventative medications. SOMETIMES a doc can tell what kind of stone by what a urinalysis shows. SO... ask if he say calcium oxylate or uric acid on your report. It can be upper level normal or more. If it's not seen then get a stone sent. Do you have gout? It is likely to be uric acid. *used to be a nurse practitioner* and saw a lot. But either or is preventable with medication, and the saying is 'once a stonemaker, always a stonemaker.' THAT IS, if it's a stone. Best of luck and have fun in retirement, I am!

Thanks! I haven’t passed a stone yet but passed a small one 30 years ago, ( I remember the date because it was my wedding day — my new husband must have wondered what he had gotten into, LOL. ) Since I am better this week the doctor wants me to “wait and see.” In the meantime all my drinking water will have a touch of lemon juice. And if I get sick again I am to call right away.
