Interesting. Yeah I have read some studies where they compare how different glucose and fructose are. I also think the fact that the metabolizing of fructose takes place in the liver is key. Fructose "can" create triglycerides and that is fat. And fructose "may be" one of the causes of insulin resistance and therefore also diabetes.  

liv001 Find Glucose can be used, but Fructose need to be processed by the liver as you say. Fructose converts to body fat faster than any other sugars. The liver turn Fructose to fat or increase the water weight of muscles. Another problem is that the industry protect this substance for financial reasons. Paying for research to convince us it is just calories. 

Carbs, especially fructose, make me hungrier and hungrier and my appetite is overwhelmed and spirals out of control. Keto works for me because it shuts off that compulsion. Perhaps you could call it an addictive behavior that overrides control and makes the CICO theory, while of course a simple explanation, beside the point.

I kept at a good weight for some years, then got into a 3 in 1 Coffee instead of my usual black. This little change caused a big gain. I didn't knoe about the appetite stimulatinh effect then.
